Personal Work: Navajo Inspired Window Display

I finally finished the window display for the Strut location in San Marcos.    I spent quite a bit of time editing this one, but in the end I was happy with the outcome.

I cut large strips of white banner paper to create the hanging tapestry's.  Then, I painted the paper with a color I found in a magazine.  I got several dowel rods and stained them.  I then carved triangles out of wood & painted them different colors (inspired by the Fall Pantone Color Trends).  I got a few bags of perfectly contrasting colored feathers and hot glued them to create the ends of the arrows.

I had a few saved wine bottles that I decided to paint with acrylics.  I'd also inherited a few leftover scraps of fabric that made for perfect labels to be glued on top.  The roses & vase were found objects that added a nice touch.

The geometric wood decor had been previously placed in the window.  I thought that it fit with the concept, so I simply added strips of color (all in the same hue) by cutting ribbon and wrapping it around various parts of the decor.

The forms were then styled in a cohesive manner.
