Everyone Starts Somewhere

This was my first window ever.  Oh, the shame, but hey, I'm showing it because I think that the best way to advance is through progress.  If I would've quit while I was in school (this was done November 2009) working on a group project in Fashion Promotional Strategies I, I never would have learned from my mistakes.  I worked on this with a couple of classmates (one of them actually just bought the snow, but I have to give her credit for that) who had zero strength for this field.  I, myself was taking six classes at the time and working at Strut about 20 hours, so my strength was running low too.

Anyway, the process of creation goes as follows:

-I (and two of the lovely co-workers I had at the time) created snowflakes the classic "arts & crafts" cutout way (by folding pieces of paper in half & cutting different snowflake designs out of them).  I then hung the snowflakes from the ceiling with string (should have used fishing wire) to make them look like they were descending.

-I hung holiday streamers and silver beads on the ceiling to give a  romantic, celebratory vibe to the display.

-I spread a thin layer of craft snow out on the ground.  Truthfully, I think this did make the window display look frigid which is funny because I actually remember it being a rather warm night when I worked on this.

-I searched around the store's parking lot for twigs and branches for a finishing touch to the "brisk & natural" theme I was trying to create.
